Disney wanted Baby Yoda to be a big surprise. To preserve the secret, it held off on making Baby Yoda toys and merch until Star Wars: The Mandalorian began airing on Disney+. Now that we’re several episodes into The Mandalorian, the adorable alien baby is, as they say, out the bag. That means the toys are coming, including Baby Yoda Funko POPs, plushes, and more.Unfortunately for fans of The Child (as the little cherub is called in the show) it seems these items are only available in limited quantities. Amazon has already sold through its initial stock of Baby Yoda Funko POPs, and Walmart is fresh out of the 11-inch plush. So if you want a chance to put the lovable creature on your shelf, get your preorder in fast.

On Walmart

This Super Sized 10-inch Baby Yoda Funko Pop is designed to look fantastic on your desk or bookshelf. The little alien’s devil-may-care attitude comes through this in this stylized figure’s expression and posture. Plus, that fuzzy jacket is just the snazziest. This figure is already sold out at Amazon, but you can still lock in your preorder from Walmart or the Disney Store.

Not everyone has room on their shelf for a 10-inch figure. That’s cool, because the regular-sized Baby Yoda Funko POP is also still available for preorder. It measures just 3 3/4 inches, and although it’s nearly identical to the 10-inch figure, I detect a deep, worldly sadness that’s not present in the larger one’s expression. Just like the Super Sized Baby Yoda Funko POP, this one is sold out at Amazon but still available at Disney Store and Walmart.

The Child Plush Toy – Mandalorian

On Amazon

Not everyone is wild about Funko POPs. That’s no problem for Baby Yoda fans, because you can also preorder this great-looking 11-inch plush of The Child. It has a vinyl head, a soft plush body, and a weighted, bean-filled base. If you want to snuggle up with your little green buddy, this is the toy to get. But hurry — it’s already sold out at Walmart.

Baby Yoda T-Shirts and Apparel

Those who are interested in Mandalorian shirts (featuring Baby Yoda or the bounty hunter himself) have a wide array of options to choose from. Most of the designs come in men, women, and child sizes, and often in a variety of colors. You can customize exactly the one you want. Check out the Mandalorian section on Amazon to see the many designs on offer.

Baby Yoda Funko POP and Plush Release Date

The one thing everyone can agree on is that the release date for these “The Child” figures is too far away. The reason for this is because the executive producers of The Mandalorian wanted to keep Baby Yoda a surprise for viewers. Had they ordered merchandise for the premier, word would have gotten out that the adorable Yoda-like creature was going to be a part of The Mandalorian.

Since orders came so late, the release date is five or six months away. Walmart has the release date for both the Super Sized and regular sized Baby Yoda Funko POP figures listed as May 22. Over on the Disney Store, however, the listing for the regular Funko says they expect it to be available by May 13. For the Super Sized one, it lists June 3 as the expected release date. As for the Baby Yoda plush, Amazon says it will ship by May 25, while the Disney Store says it expects it to be available by April 1.

Clearly, the different retailers are receiving different information about ship times. It seems likely that the exact release date for all figures is still somewhat up in the air. In any case, none of those Baby Yoda figures is expected anytime in the near future.

Those who are uninitiated in the Baby Yoda saga can find out what the fuss is about for free. All you have to do is start your free 7-day Disney+ trial, and you can binge through all of the Mandalorian episodes released so far.
