Gods will be watching.
God of War hides an incredible Avengers: Infinity War-themed Easter Egg, letting Kratos use his own Norse Infinity Gauntlet similarly to Thanos.
The secret was published on the God of War Reddit by user Moxxxxxi who put the pieces together. Players can find a talisman called the “Shattered Gauntlet of Ages” during the “Family Business” quest given by Sindri. The description heralds an untapped power hidden within the gauntlet.
“An ancient relic of Hel deemed too powerful to remain whole, fragments of its former strength lie scattered throughout the realms,” reads the description for the talisman.
Though a seemingly innocuous description at first, the game contains six enchantments throughout the Norse realms that parallel the Infinity Stones found in the Marvel universe.
- Andvari’s Soul – Soul Stone
- Njord’s Temporal Stone – Time Stone
- Eye of the Outer Realm – Space Stone
- Ivaldi’s Corrupted Mind – Mind Stone
- Asgard’s Shard of Existence – Reality Stone
- Muspelheim Eye of Power – Power Stone
The epic enchantments are tough to acquire, but when three are socketed in the fully upgraded gauntlet players will be able to shoot purple beams out of Kratos’ fist.
Of course, the Infinity Gauntlet and Marvel Comics Infinity Gems existed long before Avengers: Infinity War, but the fortuitous timing of the film opening so close to God of War’s release makes for a particularly timely Easter egg.
