That’s a whole lot of “boy!”
According to sales figures released by analysts at The NPD Group, Sony’s God of War and PlayStation 4 were the best selling game and the best selling console for last month.
God of War “achieved the highest ever launch month dollar sales,” for a PlayStation exclusive, according to NPD. April was a good month for the PlayStation platform, with software sales for PS4 settings “an all-time April high” for any console since NPD began tracking game software in 1995.
In terms of “dollar sales,” the PS4 Pro 1TB Limited Edition God of War bundle was the top earner for April, while the Neon Switch was the top seller in terms of unit sales.
Here are the best selling games for April 2018:
- God of War 2018
- Far Cry 5
- MLB 18: The Show
- Labo Variety Kit
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
- Mario Kart 8*
- Grand Theft Auto V
- Call of Duty: WWII
- Super Mario Odyssey
- NBA 2K18
Nintendo Labo Variety Kit debuted in fourth place in April, with Nintendo having a successful month overall, especially since its rankings on the NPD lists don’t include digital copies sold during the month.
Grand Theft Auto 5 still appears on the top 10 sales each month. Grand Theft Auto 5 has now sold over 95 million copies and generated an astonishing $6 billion in revenue since its release.
