James Gunn returning to write and direct.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will starting filming in 2019, according to Chris Pratt.
In a post on Instagram, the Star-Lord actor wished Pom Klementieff (who plays Mantis is the MCU movies) a happy birthday and then said, “Can’t wait to start shooting Guardians Vol. 3 with her next year!”
While Marvel Studios has yet to formally reveal its plans for a third Guardians of the Galaxy movie, director James Gunn confirmed he’s returning to write and direct Vol. 3.
Last year, we spoke with Gunn about his plans for Adam Warlock, who will make his MCU debut in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. While the director initially tried including him in Vol. 2, he ultimately opted to drop the character from the film for creative reasons.
According to Gunn, the film will be released sometime in 2020. While we patiently wait for more details about what lies ahead for Star-Lord and co., check out our SPOILER-FILLED breakdown of how Gamora’s story in Infinity War differs from the comics.
