Like Harris’ role, there are no details about who Abdul-Mateen will play in the new film.

Lana Wachowski, one of the original directors of the Matrix trilogy, is returning to direct the fourth installment of the series. She will co-write the film with her Sense8 collaborators Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell. Though Lana worked on the original series with her sister Lilly, it appears that, at least for now, Lilly will not be working on the sequel.

Little is known about the plot of the upcoming Matrix film, though the film is reportedly casting actors to play a young Neo and Morpheus. This bucks the recent trend of having older actors play themselves through the use of de-aging technology — which is how The Irishman is making Robert De Niro look younger.
