ONTARIO — Local authorities are on the lookout for someone connected to a shooting that took place in Ontario on Tuesday.
According to Malheur County District Attorney Dave Goldthorpe, the victim of the shooting, whose name is not currently being released, was hit four times and is in the hospital.
Goldthorpe said the injuries were originally life-threatening but the victim is expected to pull through following surgery, which took place on Wednesday morning.
Goldthorpe said there is no one in custody right now, but Ontario Police Department (the lead on the investigation) has a lead they are currently pursuing.
Goldthorpe said the shooting victim was specifically targeted and the shooter is not believed to be a direct danger to others at this time.
Ontario Police Lt. Jason Cooper responded to an email saying he was working on a news release at this time.
