Randolph at Clymer/Sherman/Panama, 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Clymer. These two teams will meet in the Section VI Class D semifinals in two weeks. It’s just a matter of who will be the host.

There lies the importance of Saturday’s clash. The winner gets to host the playoff game.

Defending state champion CSP is used to big games and enters the clash led by senior quarterback Gerrit Hinsdale (914 yards, 13 touchdowns, four interceptions) and top-receiving weapon and classmate Cam Barmore (17.4 yards per catch, three TDs). Connor Cooper averages 9.1 yards per carry and has rushed for eight touchdowns. Zach Chase, Barmore and Alex Dunnewold lead a defense that has recorded three shutouts and is yielding 10.0 points per game.

Randolph heads into this one off a 24-7 victory over Chautauqua Lake. Tyler Hind passed for 92 yards and a pair of 2-point conversions. Josh Brown led the Cardinals’ defense with 10.5 tackles.

Saturday’s other games of interest include:

— Kenmore West at Kenmore East, 2 p.m. at Sparky Adams Field. Rivals heading in opposite directions meet with playoff-bound Ken West looking to beat the Bulldogs for the fifth year in a row. Ken East looking for first win of season.

— Starpoint at Lockport, 2 p.m. Rivalry between Niagara County schools resumes with Lockport searching for first win of season. Spartans snapped two-game losing streak with win over Grand Island last week, looking to head into playoffs with momentum.

— Clarence at Hutch-Tech, 2 p.m. at All High Stadium. Clarence needs a win in order to give itself a chance to potentially host a quarterfinal game. Hutch-Tech locked in as a No. 7 seed for the Class AA playoffs.

— John F. Kennedy at Cleveland Hill at 2 p.m. JFK is heading to the playoffs as a No. 2 seed and three-time defending Section VI Class C champion Cleveland Hill isn’t among the playoff qualifiers this season. But can the Bears earn a rare win in this rivalry against Cleve Hill?
